A four-hour class for parents with custody, visitation, or child support cases. This is the main class for the court-related parent education requirement.

This co-parenting class is for parents who need a court-related co-parenting class and can participate in Spanish. It focuses on helping parents understand the effect of separation on children, reduce conflict, and make decisions that protect the child.

How it works

Simple process from payment to class completion.

Pay $50 online

When paying, carefully enter the email where you want to receive class information.

Check your receipt

After payment, you should receive a receipt. If you do not receive it, call the office because the email may be incorrect.

Receive Zoom link

The Zoom link is sent Friday before class around 3:00 PM to the same email used for payment.

Attend at 9:00 AM

Arrive 5 minutes early, stay on camera, participate, and attend the full 4-hour class.

Receive certificate

Only participants who attend the full length of the class receive a certificate of completion.

Schedule

The class is offered once a month, usually the first Saturday. January and July classes are usually held the second Saturday because of holidays.

Format

Classes are usually offered by Zoom. In-person classes are offered once each quarter.

Cost

The class fee is $50 per participant. Payment is made online.

Certificate

Participants must attend the full four-hour class in order to receive a certificate of completion.

Virginia courts

The class is connected to Virginia parent education guidelines for custody, visitation, and support cases.

Missed class

If you do not attend, you may take the class the following month.

Photo ID

Please have a photo ID ready. You only need to show your name and photo.

Be ready at 8:55 AM

Please join 5 minutes before 9:00 AM so the class can begin on time.

Quiet private space

Because of the topics discussed, children are not allowed to be present during the call.

Camera and participation

You must stay in the video conference the entire time, keep your camera on, and participate.

Internet connection

You are responsible for joining from a place with a strong internet connection so you can complete the class.

Payment

Payment is for Spanish-language services only.

Please do not pay for this service unless you can attend and participate in Spanish. If you need English-language services, use the official Virginia Courts provider list.

Policy
